Most lending companies require fully comprehensive insurance for financed vehicles, so if you took out a loan to purchase your car expect to pay a substantial amount for auto insurance. The benefit of a fully comprehensive policy is that the insurer will cover the accident regardless of the situation; therefore paying a little more may be worth it.
